Layperson’s Definition: The enormous set of standardized reporting tables used by Annex I Parties to submit inventory data for each year in their time series.
Because the CRF has a common structure, it allows you to find information more easily and to compare across Parties.
The UNFCCC Common Reporting Format (CRF) tables include all emission estimates for the whole time series, activity data, and other related data, including calculated implied emission factors for all sources and sinks.
The result of the key source analysis is also included in the CRF. The CRF-tables are an integral part of the inventory submission and should be consulted together with the NIR throughout the whole process of the individual review. The next section of this module will specifically cover how to use the CRF tables
