1) The Revised 1996 IPCC Guidelines, the IPCC Good Practice Guidance and the IPCC good practice guidance for LULUCF are the primary technical references for inventory reviews. As an expert, you are likely already familiar with these documents. However, as preparation for your review, you should refresh your memory of the relevant chapters. You should also remember that although these IPCC guidance documents are fundamental to preparing national greenhouse gas inventories, they are not rigidly prescriptive (i.e., they do not tell Parties exactly how to select each method or data source under all circumstances). Parties are given flexibility to use the best available methods and data sources, assuming that they are of equivalent quality to those described in the IPCC Good Practice Guidance. 3) This training module is also (hopefully!) a useful source of technical guidance material. You may wish to refresh your memory of some of the information in this training prior to starting a review. |
