CRF Tables
Along with developing a general familiarity with all the various
terms used during inventory reviews, it is important to be familiar
with the format of one reference material item in particular—The
Common Reporting Format (CRF). The CRF is a standardized set of
reporting tables that all Annex I Parties must use for their submissions
under the UNFCCC and the Kyoto Protocol. If you are from an Annex
I Party and have been engaged in the inventory preparation process,
you are likely to already be familiar with the CRF tables. However,
if you are from a non-Annex I Party you may or may not have had
the opportunity to gain significant experience with using these
tables.
The purpose of this section is to first introduce you briefly to
the information contained in the CRF and then to allow you to practice
using the tables to find information that will be useful in your
review work.
Like the previous section, though, your next step is to take the
Self-Check Quiz to measure your current familiarity with the CRF
tables. Click here
to take the Quiz.
If you score above 75% on the quiz then you probably have sufficient
knowledge of this material already and can skip this section. Even
if you do score well, though, you may want to review the material
to refresh your memory.
Please note that a revised version of the CRF tables can be found
in FCCC/SBSTA/2006/9, and were most recently adopted by COP decision
14/CP.11. The main change compared to the previous
CRF tables is an update on the LULUCF sector.
