TOPIC 2: NEW ZEALAND

2. Reviewing Other Analysis Documents
During a real review, after examining the Status Report you should examine other analysis documents provided by the UNFCCC Secretariat, including:

  • Synthesis and Assessment (S&A) report (both Parts I and II)
  • Previous review reports for the Party

For this case study, we will skip the step of examining previous review reports and Part II S&A report for the Party. However, we will briefly examine the information in Part I of the S&A report, which is included in the review materials you have downloaded. Part I of the S&A provides you with a useful comparison of the Agriculture Sector emissions data and related information both across Parties and over the complete time series.
After examining Part I of the Synthesis and Assessment report, what noteworthy observations can you make that may be relevant to the review of New Zealand’s Agriculture Sector?
