TOPIC 13: CO2 EMISSIONS FROM FOSSIL FUEL COMBUSTION

Road Transport (1.A.3.b)

  • Has the Party considered all relevant vehicle types used on roads and highways (e.g., agriculture vehicles on roads)?
  • Has the Party used country-specific carbon content factors for road vehicle fuel types?
  • How has the Party collected fuel consumption and/or vehicle travel data?
  • How has the Party allocated fuel consumption/emissions between vehicle types (e.g., cars, light duty trucks, heavy duty trucks)?
  • Has the Party performed any verification exercises on fuel consumption data (e.g., comparing fuel supply and consumption data)?
  • Has the Party accounted for emissions from all fuel types used for road transport (e.g., LPG, CNG)?
  • Has the Party properly handled biofuels (e.g., ethanol) by excluding it from their fuel consumption data for CO2 emissions but not for non-CO2 emissions?
  • Has the Party addressed emissions from the burn fraction of lubricants and allocated the stored portion of carbon to non-energy uses?

Railways (1.A.3.c) & Navigation (1.A.3.d)

  • How has fuel consumption activity data been collected?
  • Has the Party accurately estimated emissions from international marine bunkers, domestic navigation, and naval (military/multilateral operations) navigation activities?
  • Has the Party reported emissions from fishing vessels under Agriculture/Forestry/Fishing (1.A.4.c)?
  • Have specific carbon content values and carbon oxidation factors been used for marine residual and marine and railway distillate fuels?
