TOPIC 2: IDENTIFICATION OF KEY SOURCE CATEGORIES
 


As discussed in the sector overview section, Topic 1: Source Categories, the Agriculture Sector categories most likely to be key are (in order):

  • CH4 emissions from enteric fermentation (for all Annex I Parties)
  • Direct N2O emissions from agricultural soils (for almost all Annex I Parties)
  • Indirect N2O emissions from agricultural soils
  • CH4 emissions from manure management
  • N2O emissions from animal production on agricultural soils
  • N2O emissions from manure management

Savanna burning and rice production were identified as key categories by one Annex I Party, and field burning of agricultural residues was not identified as a key category by any Annex I Party.
