Other Review Suggestions

During your review, you can use the UNFCCC Review Handbook to help guide you through some systematic questions regarding each Party’s inventory submission at sectoral/category level.

You may identify technical questions (in the Handbook or your own) that do not have transparent answers within a Party’s submission. In this case, you should prepare these questions for the Parties you are reviewing as early as possible in the review process. These questions should then be coordinated with the rest of your review team and communicated to the relevant Parties so that they will have sufficient time to provide responses.

Finally, you should also be sure to keep careful notes as you are conducting the review. These notes should be recorded in the Review Transcript as new issues are identified during the review. Your records in the Review Transcript will be especially helpful for the drafting of your review report, especially since your team will likely be doing this work once you have all returned to your own office.

Your Review Transcript will also be important if there is some dispute with the Party regarding the conclusions of your review team. You may need to provide further clarification and/or justification for your conclusions, especially in cases where you have prepared your own analyses or used information from other sources.
